Course Description:
The OSHA 30 Hour General Industry Outreach Training course is the next step up from the OSHA 10 class which is the learning foundation upon which all other safety training is based for general industry.  The OSHA 30 hour General Industry course is an in-depth look at all aspects of safety in general industry, from PPE to fire prevention and toxic substances every aspect of safety is covered.  Once the course is completed, the student will be fully versed in personal safety as well as work environment safety.  They will be an asset in any industry where they are involved in due to their extensive knowledge on different aspects of safety.  OSHA recommends the Outreach Training Program courses as training for workers covered by OSHA 29 CFR 1910. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive an OSHA General Industry safety and health 30-hour course completion card from the U.S. Department of Labor.

Learning Objectives:

  • Students will be able to state the purpose of the OSH Act and list the functions of OSHA
  • Students will be able to list the OSHA inspection priorities and describe the inspection process
  • Students will understand the rights and responsibilities of employers and employees under the OSHA Act
  • Students will be able to identify hazards in the workplace and control or eliminate theidentified hazards.
  • In all aspects of their work, students will understand the importance of safety in each activity and each work environment that they enter. 
  • Safety will become an active part of each students day, working with fellow employees and their employer to make the workplace a safe environment for themselves and their fellow employees.

Seat Time:
This course has been approved for 30 hours of seat time.

Testing:
At the end of each section you will be given a 10 question quiz. Once you have successfully completed all of the sections you will be given a final exam.  The exam is 25 questions and will test your knowledge on information covered in the course. You must attain a score of at least 70% to pass this course. You will be given up to three opportunities to pass the final exam. Once you pass the final exam you will be allowed to print out certificate of completion, and an OSHA 30 card will be issued from the U.S. Department of Labor.
